Produced and released in the year 1994, Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies ever to be released in the history of Hollywood.
This hype is not only because the movie is an adaptation of one of Stephen King’s works titled Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption (we all know Stephen King’s works are amazing and thrilling), the hype transcends to the themes and lessons learnt in the movie.
Centering mainly on hope and incarceration as the major themes, the Shawshank Redemption movie is one that tells the impact of incarceration on the minds and spirits of different men in one prison facility.
For inmates like Andy Dufresne (who happens to be the lead character), incarceration didn’t equal to giving up hope, it just made him more hopeful of a better future outside the prison.
But for inmates like Red, hope was nothing but a flimsy and fleeting feeling that didn’t hold a pinch a salt.
Along the line, we saw how Andy taught Red and the other inmates how and why they shouldn’t give up hope regardless of the incarceration.
Another lesson to learn in the Shawshank Redemption movie is the fact that half of the time the prison is not the reformative institution that it is designed to be.
As in the case of the Shawshank prison facility, we saw how Andy went from being a good guy to being a “bad” and sly character at the end of the movie.
Shawshank Redemption is not a movie to be forgotten in a hurry; hence this is why we are creating the Hope cookbook, a cookbook that will inspire you not to give up on yourself and, indeed, your life regardless of the situation you find yourself.
Just like Hope, food is important too, and that’s why we don’t want you to give up until you eat!!!
